For the fifth consecutive year, the ANA/AIMM is releasing “A Diversity Report for the Advertising/ Marketing Industry.” This annual benchmark tracks the gender and ethnic diversity of ANA member companies and identifies action steps to improve diversity.
UNDERSTANDING THE DIVERSITY DISCONNECT | JUNE 2022
Minority undergraduates and new hires are facing unique issues in academia and industry as emerging talent. Despite the significant resources being invested in diversity initiatives, minority individuals continue to feel a lack of belonging in their respective environments. This year, the AEF team seeks to better understand the diversity disconnect amongst Black/African American (AA) undergraduates and new hires to learn how academia and the industry can become more inclusive to attract and retain outstanding diverse talent. To do so we need to better understand the emerging talent from the Black/African American community to identify the experiences that can create a disconnect within the Marketing /Advertising industry. In addition, we need to explore outlets that can bridge this diversity gap and provide emerging talent with the professional equity they need to be successful.
